Jalandhar was the capital of Punjab from India’s independence (1947) until Chandigarh was built in 1953. On the Grand Trunk Road, Jalandhar is a major rail and road junction and is 144 km northwest of the state capital, Chandigarh. The city was known as Jullundur in British India.

The College in Jalandhar has a Training & Placement Cell to arrange career counselling, training and placement activities. The Training and Placement cell in Jalandhar provides support for placement of Final year students of UG and PG Classes. The support services that it offers are in the form of arranging campus interviews, grooming students to face the final test of their knowledge and arranging Guest lectures, workshops, seminars for career counselling as well as make efforts to provide practical training to the students.
This cell was established in 2006 under the Deanship of Sh. C.B.Gaur, Associate Professor, PG Department of Commerce and Management Studies. In 2008, Sh. Rajiv Sharma, Associate Professor, PG Department of Commerce and Management Studies took over the charge of this department. Presently it is managed by a very dedicated and devoted team comprising Sh.V.K.Sareen, Associate Professor, Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Dean, Sh.Nischay Bahl, Sh.Vishal Sharma, Sh.Manav Aggarwal and Sh. Rajeev Puri as members.

Placement cell is pro-active in arranging Campus placement drives by inviting reputed enterprises from the corporate world like Infosys, Genpact, IBM-Daksh, WNS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Prudential Insurance etc. The Training & Placement cell has been instrumental in placing more than 1500 brilliant students with the visiting companies since 2008 which speaks volumes about the energy, initiative and enthusiasm of the entire team of placement cell.
In all, 1525 candidates have been selected by the visiting Companies.
The experienced Recruitment/Placements team offers Manpower consultancy to the Candidates of Jalandhar and all over the country and 2 overseas countries. The consultancy activities, particularly outside the University, have strengthened the desire to apply recent methods amongst potential users in HR industry, medicine and other fields.
